Young Innovators Award Crayon Trophy

Young Innovators Award Crayon Trophy

The YIA (Young Innovators Awards) is part of the innovation culture in Tauranga.  Over 15 years ago Locus Research, Woods Creative and Priority One started something that has now become a regular and important part of many schools curriculum https://www.yia.co.nz/

So when Priority One reached out to see if I could make a trophy (or three) for the awards I was absolutely on board.  I enjoy nothing more than pushing the boundaries on what can be made in crayon and solving problems.  They were thrilled that I even made the sphere look like it was floating.  The noise in the crowd when people realised that they were made from crayon was amazing.

I have a dream that one day some rich family will commission a whole table scape of dragons or unicorn crayons and fly me to set it up.
